The Luray Caverns Airport is a public use, general aviation airport operated under the supervision of the Luray-Page County Airport Authority. Located two (2) miles west of the Town of Luray on Airport Road, it has a 3,126 X 75 foot runway.

Luray Caverns Airport provides a user friendly atmosphere supportive of the development of general aviation. The airport strives to afford the citizens of Page County an environment that fosters pride and economic development including promotion of aeronautical education and training that benefits our nation’s defense and commercial transportation system. Luray – Page County Airport Authority is a responsible steward of the investment made by citizens in their airport.
The Luray Caverns Airport is a public use, general aviation airport operated under the supervision of the Luray-Page County Airport Authority, located two (2) miles west of the Town of Luray on Airport Road, it has a 3,126 X 75 foot runway and will accommodate turboprop and propeller driven aircraft of 12,500 pounds or less. The airport is equipped with an Automated Weather Observation System (AWOS III) to provide pilots with real-time weather data to promote safe operations. The AWOS can be reached at 540-743-1148 or on 118.275 on your radio. There are 28 hangar spaces for lease to private citizens and businesses and 22 tie-down spots to facilitate aircraft based at or visiting the airport. Thirty aircraft are currently based at Luray Caverns Airport. The airport is managed by The Luray-Page County Airport Authority, who may be reached by phone at (540) 743-6070 or by email at FBO@lurayairport.com.
The runway was paved in 2013 and a new LED runway lighting system installed. The runway lights are pilot controllable using the Unicom frequency 122.8. The facility is fully fenced and clear of obstructions.

Our staff will offer to provide transportation services to and from Luray Caverns and the Town of Luray during regular operating hours, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 7 days per week.
In 2007, Luray Town Council and Page County Board of Supervisors adopted an Airport Layout Plan for future improvements at Luray Caverns Airport. The plan includes the construction of a tie-down area, t-hangars for aircraft, taxi lanes, vehicle parking, terminal building, fuel farm, runway improvements and obstruction removal. A capital improvement plan (CIP) exists for Luray Caverns Airport. This plan is a 5-year plan that lists identified improvements to be made at the airport; its update is coordinated each year through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Virginia Department of Aviation (DOAV). The projects listed are generally based on the improvements identified in the Airport Layout Plan noted above. Funding for projects is generally split between Federal (90%) State (8%) and local (2%) funds.
Planning to fly in to explore Luray Caverns or visit the Town of Luray for a bite to eat? Airport staff provide rides to and from Luray Caverns and the Town of Luray 7 days a week from 8am – 6pm. Inform airport staff that you need a ride upon landing to surrounding attractions and businesses within 5 miles of the airport. Call the FBO at 540-743-6070 when you are ready to get picked up to return to the airport.
